Blue n White Bash 2006

The Blue n White Bash was scheduled to be held at 8:00 PM after the conclusion of the Annual Sports Day. It was a hectic time prior that for the OBA Committee members who manned the office during Sports Day for the benefit of Old Boys who dropped in, and after that had to rush to the Club. The Bash was a joint effort of the Catholic Club and our OBA.

The Blue n White Bash was scheduled to start at 8:00 PM in the Catholic Club premises.
Nikhil Chinnappa was the DJ of the Nite. He faced the camera briefly before entering the venue as NDTV had requested an interview with him.

Prior to that, several Old Boys had helped in the setting and decoration. Brian Bradbury of Air Deccan had brought the idea of hanging up the school flag and house flags around the dance floor to fruition. His idea of also leaving small flyers on the tables with info on the school and the OBA was a big hit with the guests.

As Nikhil Chinnappa commenced rocking the crowd, there was a slow stream of people venturing out on to the dance floor which was soon packed choc a bloc. A young lady guest of an Old Boy won the best dancer award presented by Chinnappa. She mentioned that hearing the word Ball she was disinclined to come but was persuaded by the Old Boy and was glad she came after all.

Approximately around 400 people thronged the venue. The dance floor was roofed with asbestos sheets which was just the right protection for the crowd, from the rain that came down during the fag end of the party.

Fr. Michael John paid a brief visit at the venue. Unfortunately he wasn’t present to witness a rabble of Old Boys swinging their clubs at random in an attempt to recreate their Sports Day gone by :-).

I and a few other committee members unfortunately had to leave shortly before the end of the proceedings as we needed to wake up in time the next day to fulfill our roles in the OBA Day functions.
